105 Health Technicians from Hospital Central Licensed in ICD-10 Program with support of Jembi/UEM-MOASIS
The Central Hospital of Maputo recently held the graduation ceremony for another 105 professionals trained with the support of Jembi/UEM-MOASIS in International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10).
Maputo, December de 2018 – The Central Hospital of Maputo, with the technical support of Jembi/UEM-MOASIS, trained 105 health professionals in ICD-10 – International Statistical Classification of Diseases – in the scope of improving information systems in the Health sector.
The ceremony was attended by important personalities from the Health sector, and by the Jembi/UEM-MOASIS team, represented by Dr. Moisés Ernesto Mazivila, Program Coordinator, and Dr. Adelino Covane, Systems Implementation Coordinator.
The purpose of this training was to raise awareness for the importance of using ICD-10 in the diagnosis and certification of the causes of death and hospital morbidity at the country’s highest referenced health unit.
It should be noted that since 2008, Jembi/UEM-MOASIS has trained 1,959 employees of the National Health Service (SNS) according to the SIFo – Information System for Continuing Education of the National Directorate for the Training of Health Professionals.
