Mozambican Open Architecture Standards and Information Systems (MOASIS), was established in September 2008, as a Living Lab and research non-profit organisation in partnership with the Univeristy of Eduardo Mondlane and the Ministry of Health. MOASIS is directly supported by Jembi Health Systems NPC based in Cape Town (South Africa) . MOASIS, a specialist Health Information Systems (HIS) and eHealth programme managed by a team of local Mozambican HIS experts, epidemiologists, technicians, implementers and administrators. The programme is improving healthcare management in Mozambique by strengthening Mozambican capacities, implementation and evaluation of projects, introducing innovative technologies and supporting public and private partnerships.
MOASIS is funded by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), Twinning Center, Rockefeller Foundation, International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Health Informatics Public Private Partnership (HIPPP) and central funds from Jembi Health Systems NPC.
