Cape Town, South Africa – October 2016 –The Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) Digitisation Guidebook has been translated into Portuguese to ensure that more countries and interested parties in the Lusophone world have access to the step-bystep online tool, which was developed to provide guidance for countries to plan, analyse, design and implement digitized systems and automated processes for CRVS. This CRVS Digitisation Guidebook was commissioned by the African Development Bank for the African Programme for the Accelerated Improvement of Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (APAI-CRVS) and was developed jointly by Plan International and Jembi Health Systems in collaboration with UNICEF. The Guidebook is intended to be a living and collaborative resource that can be extended over time, as countries contribute reusable assets and case studies to the Guidebook based on their experiences. The Portuguese version was added onto the website in addition to the existing English and French versions (http://www.crvs-dgb.org/pt/). The Portuguese translation was conducted by Jembi Health Systems accompanied by a review carried out by UNICEF Mozambique Country office.
