Jembi meets with Critical Software

Cape Town South Africa, 23 January 2013 – Jembi Health Systems welcomed representatives, Mr Daniel Camarinha (Business Development Manager) and Mr Rui Pereira de Melo (Administrator Executive), of Critical Software, the winning company of the SIS-MA international tender for the national Monitoring and Evaluation Electronic System to its head office in Cape Town, to further formalise and negotiate the contract for the respective tender. The new SIS-MA system will replace the current system, called Modulo Basico, installed in most of the districts and all the provinces in Mozambique as well as in the Ministry of Health.

The Portuguese information systems and software company, Critical Software, was awarded the tender after a complex process which started with a call for international tenders – which included a pre-tender, a full tender invitation and a blind evaluation conducted by an independent evaluator. The evaluation process was facilitated and coordinated by a steering committee led by the Ministry of Health in Mozambique, and included representatives from both Jembi Health Systems and MOASIS. Twelve Companies applied, six were shortlisted and three were selected as possible option of which Critical Software was judged the best.

The two days spent at the Jembi head office in Cape Town was used to negotiate the SIS-MA contract, timelines, phase amounts and discuss the management of this contract in the spirit of collaboration between the MoH of Mozambique, Jembi, MOASIS and Critical Software. A pre-agreement was signed and, thereafter, the signing of a full contract for the service delivery of the SIS-MA Monitoring and Evaluation system for the Country of Mozambique. The project will start in the middle of February 2013.
