Jembi/Moasis Supports the Training of 25 more Health Statistics Technicians in Maputo

Jembi / UEM-Moasis participated in the closing ceremony of the Medium Course of Technicians in Sanitary Statistics
that took place at the Regional Center for Health Development through the Medium Polytechnic Institute of Health
(CRDS-Maputo), where 25 technicians graduated.

Maputo, Mozambique – January 2020 – 25 new technicians graduated in health statistics on December 20, 2019 after 21-months in a course sponsored by Jembi Health Systems (JEMBI) and UEM through PEPFAR-CDC funds made available within the scope of the project that UEM / mOASIS had been executing with the Directorate of the Regional Center for Health Development (CRDS-Maputo). The graduation ceremony took place at the CRDS premises in Maputo City and was chaired by the Director of the CRDS, Dr. Maria Manuela Rico, the representative of the Directorate of Training for Health Professionals, from MISAU Dr. Francisco Langa, the Pedagogical Director of the CRDS-Maputo Dr. Extra Chadreque and by the General Coordinator
of Jembi Mozambique, Dr. António Sitói.
In her speech, the Director of the CRDS expressed her appreciation to JEMBI as an international organization that spared no effort to ensure that the first and latest coursesfor statistical technicians took place and that the students received continuous funding until the end of the course. This culminated in the graduation of 25 professionals who will possibly participate in field internships in health facilities with different epidemiological profiles (urban and rural), thus giving them a closer view of the reality in these two fields.
The Public Health Sector lacks this type of staff, equipped with essential skills and that is why the support provided by Jembi UEM / mOASIS with PEPFAR-CDC funding is part of an extensive training program aimed at transferring knowledge and skills for the staff of the National Health System. In fact, since 2009, Jembi has trained 2,632 health workers.
After the speeches were delivered, the pedagogical report on the finalists was presented followed by the delivery of the diplomas to the recent graduates, who took the respective oath. At the end of the closing ceremony, the top students received prizes and special recognition.

“This project is possible thanks to a partnership between Mozambique and the american people through PEPFAR-CDC funds”.
