Jembi participates in review discussion hosted by the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation

Cape Town, South Africa – November 2014 – Jembi CEO, Prof Chris Seebregts and Jembi Mozambique Program Director, Dr Alessandro Campione, recently returned from London, where they participated as part of an international expert panel in a two-day review of plans to strengthen Malawi’s HIV data systems and capacities at the invitation of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) and the United States President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).

The review took place at the European offices of BMGF in London and forms part of ongoing support from the BMGF’s Global Health Program and PEPFAR for the Government of Malawi and independent consultants as they seeks to strengthen its health information systems and HIV monitoring and evaluation at national and sub-national level.  The meeting will be followed up with future virtual and face-to-face meetings and result in a comprehensive plan for strengthening HIV data management and linking to effective decision-making as well as strengthening other aspects of the system, including integration and interoperability between individual systems, capacity and data use.
