Jembi-UEM / mOASIS Supports the EDUCAMOZ Project Closing Ceremony -Inclusive and Quality Education in Mozambique

The Terre des Hommes Foundation (Italy) in collaboration with several partners including a Jembi /UEM-mOASIS, carried out the closing ceremony of the EducaMoz project where the final results and products developed throughout the project were presented to all stakeholders involved.

Maputo, Mozambique – June 2021 – As part of the dissemination of the final results and products of the project AID 11518 EducaMoz- Quality Inclusive Preschool Education in Mozambique, co-financed by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, Terre Des Hommes carried out the closing ceremony of the project with the support of Jembi-UEM / mOASIS at the Eduardo Mondlane University Medical School.
The EducaMoz project, which supports the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Action (MGCAS) – had as its main objective to raise the quality of inclusive preschool education services, improving the professional training of kindergarten teachers and strengthening the ministry’s innovative monitoring and evaluation system. In three years, the following results were achieved: 41,300 children between 0 and 5 years of age have access to an inclusive and quality education through the improvement of the pedagogical skills of 1,120 kindergarten teachers; 100 women improved their professional skills and working conditions through the training and qualification of caring mothers as part of the preschool

education system in Mozambique. In addition, Jembi-UEM/MOASIS supported the project in strengthening MGCAS data collection and reporting capacity through the expansion of the Monitoring and Evaluation Information System (SI-M&A), which was expanded to 8 districts of the Sofala Province, with the training of 333 technicians in the sector. In this regard, the objective was to provide public services with a reliable system and strengthen advocacy actions in the area of early child development.
The event was attended by 35 guests, representatives of the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Action (National Children’s Directorate, Human Resources Directorate, Cooperation and Planning Directorate), Provincial Directorates (Maputo, Nampula and Sofala Province), District Services of (Matola, Boane, KaMaxaquene and KaMavota), Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), Terre de Hommes Italy TDHIT (local and provincial coordinators) Partners of the Project (RDPI, UP, Instituto Mwana, Jembi- UEM/mOASIS, CAM), and others.
