MOASIS and the Eduardo Mondlane University initiates the first in a series of workshops aimed at “knowledge sharing” between key MOASIS staff and students from the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science
Maputo, Mozambique, 9 April 2013 – The MOASIS team recently kick-started the first in a series of workshops by hosting a group of 26 4th year computer science students, at the MOASIS premises in Maputo. The workshops is aimed at key MOASIS staff sharing knowledge, information, skills and expertise gained from past and current projects, with aspiring students from the department of Mathematics and Informatics faculty of Science.
The students showed great enthusiasm and excitement as they interacted through various discussions which took place on the day. Leonel Machava (MOASIS Senior Software Developer) shared a presentation on the “Development and use of mobile technologies in Health”, and shared with students the recent mICD-10 innovative project as and example of how mobile technology and its’ practical application is improving health care.
Both MOASIS and the UEM are pleased with the successful outcome of the first workshop held, and look forward to continue supporting “knowledge sharing” initiatives and strengthening relations between the two entities.
